CONGRATULATIONS TO:

  • Congratulations to all STFC athletes in their performances at the Canada Summer Games.
    More congratulations to:
    - Keegan Sharp - Bronze Medal Men's Decathlon
    - Michelle Young - Silver Medal Women's 400 meter hurdles.

  • Jordan Nosbush, Stephane Gerard, Cossy Nachilobe, Keegan Sharp, Landon Hretsina, Andrew Arndt, Sharai Siemens, Jenni Hucul, Michelle Young, Meghan Flavel, Christine Foth, Kim Elliott, Chloe Hetherton, Breanna Rak, Veronika Smits, Taryn Suttie, Jenna Mann, and Andrea Abrams for making the 2009 Team Saskatchwean Jeux Canada Games Team that will compete in Charlottetown, PEI from August 22nd to 29th.

  • Congratulations to all the athletes who competed at the 2009 National Junior Championships which were held in Charlottetown, PEI from July 17-19th. STFC was well represented with 12 athletes who attained multiple personal bests.
    More congratulations go out to:
    - Chloe Hetherton who finished 2nd in the Triple Jump with a seasons best performance 12.54m
    - Michelle Young, Jenna Mann, Jasmin Sjodin, and Chloe Hetherton who finished 3rd in the 4x100m relay.
    - Taryn Suttie who finished 2nd in the Shot Put with a performance of 14.91. This throw not only broke the provincial record but got Taryn a spot on the National Junior Pan American Games Team which will compete in Trindidad & Tobago from July 31st to August 2nd.

  • Tyler Young, Meghan Flavel, and Jenna Mann who were selected to represent Team Saskatchewan at the National Youth Championships held in Sherbrooke, Quebec on August 8th & 9th.

    Head Coach Jason Reindl and former coach Jenna McCormick were also selected to attend the meet with the 25 athletes from across the province.

    Michelle Young who finished 1st in the 100 m hurdles with a personal best performance of 13.69 and finished 3rd in the 400 m hurdles with a perforance of 62.58.

    Jenna Mann who finished 3rd in the 100 m hurdles with a performance of 14.23.

    Tyler Young who finished 1st in the 300 m hurdles with a personal best performance of 40.12 setting a new provincial record previously held by his coach, Jason Reindl.

  • Jenna Mann for being named Female Athlete of the camp at the annual Saskatchewan Legion Track and Field Camp which was held from June 29th to July 3rd at the University of Saskatchewan.

  • STFC club athletes Michelle Young and Chloe Hetherton were selected to the World Youth team that will compete in Suditrol, Italy from July 8 - 12. Good Luck Ladies!

  • Brianne Thiessen, former STFC club athlete has won the NCAA Division 1 Championship in the Haptathlon. She currently ranks 11th in the world with her performance.

  • Coach Dean Bertoia was selected to attend an internations throws conference at the end of September.

CONGRATULATIONS TO:

- our many outstanding athletes participating at the Regina Trials & Provincials June 13 & 14. They brought home:
  • 41 Gold
  • 28 Silver
  • and 16 Bronze medals

- all STFC athletes in their performances at the Canada Summer Games. Special congratulations to:
  • Keegan Sharp - Bronze Medal Men's Decathlon
  • Michelle Young - Silver Medal Women's 400 meter hurdles.



IN THE NEWS

STFC's Head Coach Jason Reindl ChPC has recently been appointed to the Coaching Apprenticeship Program. Jason has been a member with Coaches of Canada since September 2008. At age 24 he is one of their youngest members and their youngest Chartered Professional Coach. CLICK HERE to read more . . .

BRINGING HOME THE MEDALS

2009 Boeing Indoor Classic
Winnipeg, March 5-7


Congratulations STFC athletes on bringing back:
- 11 Gold

- 3 Bronze Medals
from the 2009 Boeing Indoor Classic Championships.

STFC athletes Andrew Arndt was named male record breaker of the meet for his record breaking performance in the Junior mens 60mHurdles and Nolan Machiskinic also broke the Junior Mens Shot Put record.

to the Saskatoon Track and Field Club athletes who were selected to the Team Saskatchewan contingent of the Royal Canadian Legion/Athletics Canada Canadian Youth Championships in Sherbrooke, Quebec on August 9th and 10th, 2008.

Out of 25 athletes and 2 coaches our club is represented by 8 athletes and 1 coach.

OUTSTANDING STFC ATHLETES in 2008

STFC would like to acknowledge the achievements of 5 club members who at the end of the 2008 season ranked in the top 10 in the nation. They include:

- Chloe Hetherton - 3rd in the Triple Jump
- Brianne Thiesen - 3rd in the Heptathlon
- Chantel Spies - 4th in the Discus
- Elisabeth Dubourt - 6th in the Hammer throw
- Nathan Lennie - 8th in the Hammer throw.

STFC athlete Chloe Hetherton was among the finalists for the Athletics Canada's Youth Athlete of the year award.

Chloe had an amazing season breaking provincial juvenile and junior records both indoors & out. She went on to win both the National Youth & Junior Championships in the Triple Jump.

The awards were presented at the 2008 Athletics Canada Awards Gala held in Toronto on November 22 where Jessica Parry, a 150m runner from London, Ontario was announced as the winner. Also in the running was Phillip Hayle, a 100m sprinter from Brampton, Ontario.
